Kyle Juszczyk, a fullback for the San Francisco 49ers, and his wife Kristin, a budding fashion designer known for her viral game day fits, teamed up with former HGTV star and Instagram’s home-reno queen Galey Alix for their entire home transformation. And it was exactly that: a full renovation of their renovated home!

Galey had an opportunity to work with a family that she admired and utilized her creativity in a real-life family’s space. 3. Design Goals: Calm, Cozy & Custom

Kristin’s Vision: Kristin wanted a home that felt like a “safe space” where her family could unwind and feel at ease. She envisioned a calming, neutral-toned environment, free from distractions, where the focus would be on emotional comfort and warmth.

Focus on Emotional Comfort and Family Vibes: The design prioritizes the needs of their family, emphasizing coziness, functionality, and a welcoming atmosphere. It’s all about creating a place where everyone feels at home, relaxed, and connected.

Galey’s Signature Style: Galey brought her signature timeless and elegant style to the project. Her design choices were soulful, reflecting both the family’s personality and her own eye for beauty. Each room exudes an understated charm, making it both stylish and livable.

4. The Transformation: What Changed

The renovation prioritized important areas of the house. The kitchen, dining room, and living areas have all been updated, and now have a modern, fresh feel, but still radiate the homey and comfortable charm of old. The cozy corners have to be everyone’s favorite part of this transformation, giving a great place to curl up and relax, along with some smart storage solutions that add charm with function. Kyle’s “man cave” was also given a personal touch where he can comfortably chill and entertain in a style that made this transformation extra special for them.

6. Galey’s Process: 7 Days, No Peeking

How did Galey keep the makeover a surprise? Her only rule is that clients must leave during the renovation, to make sure that the surprise isn’t spoiled; so how was she able to do a full-scale home make-over in only 7 days? 

Galey knows all the details; with her planning and the help of an active team, everything was able to come together in time. Was Kristin confident in the process? Although she may have had nervous moments at the beginning she entrusted her entire home to Galey and all of the emotional buildup of the reveal was worth it.

7. Real-Life Impact: What It Means for the Couple

In what ways has the renovation altered both Kyle and Kristin’s daily living life? The new home has not changed their space, but has added an emotional serenity and comfort to their daily lives. How did they feel about the final result? 

The couple was very emotionally attached to their remodeled space, and each of their changes gave them that cozy, individualized feeling. What do they think of Galey’s work?
